Would section 8 help me get a apartment ?

Ok I am 21 years old and I know that I ask this question a lot but I am still living with my mother and my two younger siblings and I really wanna move out and do u think that section 8 would help me get a apartment in harlem or not because I have a part time job at home depot which I get paid 8.55 per hour and all of my life I have lived in brooklyn and I am just sick and tired of living in brooklyn and I do have a bank account but I don't have a savings account but will section 8 help me get a apartment in harlem or not
