Are swim cles that are not separated acceptable?

In my daughter's school there will eventually be a swimming unit coming up in a few days and both boys and girls have the cl together. Isn' t kind of wrong to force young people to be in bathing suits in front of each other? Even if its one piece? Also, I ume boys would use this opportunity to harass or humiliate girls. I assumed they would be seperate. Daughter is in 8th grade by the way
