Have you ever been in church and thought the Pastor was basing his sermon on someone in the congregation?
In the film "How Green was my Valley" - a priest castigates a girl in his sermon for getting pregnant outside marriage and humiliates her in front of the rest of the congregation. He actually called her out by name. Do such things still happen or are they more subtle by making the sermon into generalities even though most people know who they are referring to? If it has happened to you, was it so obvious that you thought everyone else was whispering about you afterwards? Did it have a positive or negative effect in you?
