What are these raccoons doing?

Ok so i really would like to shoot them but its dark so i can't. There is a big pine tree near my house and i think their are what i think are raccoons in it. The have been shrieking and stuff for about 3 hours now. And i hear what sounds like a frog(not a bullfrog) in the tree. Are they mating? Fighting? If they are fighting are they trying to establish territory? What is up? It is getting very annoying and now im curious on whats going on.
